You do not need to resign to apply
Many people explore a business while employed because a salary supports their household. A new ecommerce business still needs attention, even when a supplier dispatches the orders.
Vello does not require you to leave your job. We want to understand the hours you could realistically give a business before discussing suitable opportunities.
Your circumstances set boundaries
Customer questions and supplier issues do not always arrive at convenient times. A business needing frequent weekday conversations might be difficult if you can only work evenings.
Review your contract and employer policies for outside work or conflicts of interest. GOV.UK confirms that employment and self-employment can coexist, but your specific obligations matter.
What Vello takes on
The agreed build covers opportunity research, supplier work, branding, the Shopify storefront, plans and handover, with three months of structured aftercare. This can reduce the setup workload while you remain employed.
After handover, you run the business. We discuss those responsibilities frankly, along with the scope of any optional continuing support.
Changing jobs is a separate decision
A plan or an early sale is not reliable proof that a new business can replace a salary. The decision depends on sustained results, available cash, household needs and your tolerance for risk.
Vello does not promise a date when resigning will be affordable. If replacing income is your goal, make that clear in your brief and take personal financial and tax advice before acting.
